Privacy Policy

Simple answer: We don't collect anything. Here's the detailed version.

Our Commitment to Privacy

Clipper is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your music listening habits, library, and preferences are personal and should remain private.

Zero Data Collection

Clipper does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, analytics, telemetry, or usage data. Period.

What We Don't Collect

To be absolutely clear, here's what Clipper does NOT collect:

  • No analytics or telemetry
  • No crash reports (unless you explicitly opt-in through system settings)
  • No usage statistics or behavioral tracking
  • No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
  • No third-party trackers or SDKs
  • No information about your music library or listening habits

Data Stored Locally

Clipper stores some data locally on your device to function properly. This data never leaves your device:

Server Credentials

Your Navidrome server URLs, usernames, and passwords are encrypted and stored in iOS Keychain.

App Preferences

Settings like theme preference, accent colors, and playback settings are stored locally using SwiftData.

Downloaded Music

When you download music for offline playback, it's stored in the app's secure container on your device.

Cache Data

Album artwork and metadata are cached locally to improve performance and reduce server requests.

Third-Party Services

Clipper interacts with the following third-party services, but only when you actively use specific features:

Your Navidrome Server

Clipper communicates directly with your self-hosted Navidrome server to stream music and fetch metadata. We have no access to or knowledge of these communications.

LRCLib (Lyrics Service)

When you view lyrics, Clipper fetches time-synced lyrics from LRCLib. Only the song title and artist are sent to LRCLib's API. No personal information is transmitted.

Apple App Store & Services

When you download Clipper from the App Store, Apple may collect certain information according to their privacy policy. This is outside of Clipper's control.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing for us to:

  • Delete (we don't have it)
  • Export (we don't store it)
  • Correct (we never collected it)
  • Share with third parties (impossible without data)

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy policy, we'll update this page and the "Last Updated" date. However, our commitment to zero data collection will never change.
